Largo Martial Arts Summer Camp – Muay Thai Culture Week
Largo Martial Arts Summer Camp. Children this week got to see what it takes to craft a killer Muay Thai kick and about the many fighters who helped make this sport great. The theme of the week was Muay Thai and the country of Thailand. Kids learned about Thailand and its culture. The culture aspects of Thailand relates to some of the great fighters who fought in the art of eight limbs. With their instructors kids talked about Thailand and how over many centuries Muay Thai developed into what we know it as today. We all found it very interesting how the Thai people looked at the body of a Thai fighter. We also enjoyed learning about the traditional dances Muay Thai fighter perform before each event.
While learning about Mia King, Buakaw Banchamek, and Ramon Dekkers the kids also perfected their Muay Thai kicks and strikes. By the end of the week kids could perform a beautiful front kick, shin kick, and knee strike. Campers also got a chance to unleash their creative sides with a field trip to Practically Pikasso. They design their own salad plates to take home. The designs ranged from emojis to wonderful replicas of their family pets. They also enjoyed being able to paint and not worry about the mess. By the end of the week the kids were ready for their Fourth of July plans and the fun things we had planned for next weeks camp. Visit Strykerz Kid Fit a Largo Martial Arts Summer Camp.
